My first introduction to the wonderful world of music began in middle school around 1981. I met with the band instructor and we talked about what instrument I would play. When I could not create so much as a squeak on the clarinet, he said, “Why don’t you play percussion?” For several years afterwards I walked around with drumsticks in my back pocket. Soon after I introduced myself to the likes of Steve Smith (Journey), Neil Peart (Rush), and Peter Criss (Kiss) as my inspiration. I would eventually become a member of the John Marshall High School Band, where we consistently taught the rest of Texas what a marching band was all about through the years.

I joined a couple of bands, Deep Six and Big Break, and played the local club circuit. My love for playing music continues almost 28 years later. My biggest and most cherished accomplishments however are my daughters Lauren (22) and Jessica (11). Playing with RSR has been extremely satisfying, knowing I am playing with truly great musicians. I can honestly guarantee you a good time at a Red Sauce Rules! show.
